Accessing your mail using a POP3/SMTP client

Once your account (mailbox) has been created you must setup, or change the mail settings on the mail software package you will be using to send and receive mail as follows:

If you are connected to the CyberLynk Network, use the following settings:

POP3 server: mail.clsurf.com
SMTP server: mail.clsurf.com

If you are connected to an ISP other than CyberLynk, use the following settings:

POP3 server: mail.clsurf.com
SMTP server: [Your ISP's defined SMTP server]

Due to problems with controlling SPAM (unwanted - junk E-mail), most ISP's do not allow outgoing E-mail to be relayed through their SMTP server from outside of their network. We are no exception - unless you are physically connected to our network, you cannot send your outgoing E-mail through our server. In this case you must use the SMTP server provided by your ISP. If you don't know what this is, please contact the company providing your connection to the Internet.

Your E-mail address will then be: <mailbox>@clsurf.com

Accessing your mail using the web interface

Your mail box can be accessed through any compliant web browser like Netscape or Internet Explorer. Not only can you read and send mail, but you can also change your password, setup forwarding, and create an auto responder with a vacation message - this lets people know that you have received your mail but it may be awhile before your reply in person.

To access the web interface, simply go to http://www.clsurf.com and click on the 'Web Mail Login' item on the menu.

Use your mailbox as the 'User ID' and your E-mail password as the 'Password' to gain access to the administrative interface.

Note: If you change your password, please make sure that you remember it! Once you change it we cannot tell you what it is - we will only be able to assign a new password.

Other Options available through the Web Interface

Mail Summary - shows mail in your mailbox

Reading Mail - Read your mail by clicking on this button

Sending Mail - Send mail by clicking on this button

Changing your Password - change your E-mail password

Changing optional User Information - this information is not required to use your mailbox

Changing Mail Forwarding Information - Forward mail to an address someplace else

Changing Vacation Message - This is an auto-responder - this message is sent in response to every E-mail received in your mailbox
